Welcome to Smith Acres Farm School, where education grows from the ground up. Nestled in beautiful Southwest Florida, our yearlong Agricultural Science program offers a rich, immersive learning experience for children ages 5–14, blending nature-based exploration with hands-on farm education.
Rooted in the timeless principles of Charlotte Mason education, our classes encourage child-led learning through observation, discovery, narration, and meaningful work. With a low 6:1 student-to-teacher ratio, we nurture each child’s natural curiosity while providing individualized attention in a safe, supportive environment.
🌻 What Makes Our Program Unique?
- Real Farm Life, Real Science: Kids learn alongside cows, chickens, goats, pigs, sheep, and horses—understanding life cycles, habitats, animal care, nutrition, and more through weekly interactive lessons.
- Charlotte Mason Inspired: Emphasizing outdoor learning, living books, journaling, nature walks, and habit training, we embrace a gentle but rich educational approach that respects the dignity of the child and the wonder of creation.
- Project-Based Learning: Every week includes experiments, nature studies, group challenges, and farm chores that build practical skills and confidence.
- Family Connection: Once a month, families are invited to join “Family Day,” where students share what they’ve learned, lead hands-on activities, and celebrate their growth together.
- Teacher-Guided, Child-Led: Lessons are flexible, allowing students to explore, question, and lead their learning under the careful guidance of passionate farm educators.
- PEP Approved / Step Up Direct Pay: We proudly accept Step Up for Students Direct Pay and offer optional PEP Assessments.
